and apple is doing that. second, apple seemed to spurn the social compact so many companies have sought to develop with their shareholders, including kimberly-clark. they didn't seem to be inclined to boost the dividend any aggressive way. they seemed reluctant to recognize they had more cash than they needed and the excess cash belongs to the shareholders which is what the great companies are doing now. now, this -- dividend boosts brought the stock up to the hallowed 3% yield that has attracted many. the decision to return more capital via the buyback than anyone i know working for is quite frankly terrific. both should create a floor for the stock that's not much different from the floor that many other 3% yielders have. hey, listen, what can i tell you, it's still just a stock. but it's the third reason that the stock's been going down that worries me and is why i think you're not going to see it up huge tomorrow. the lack of innovation. yes. it is true, as cook said, that the iphone and ipad continue to

apple stockholders. there are two groups of apple stockholders. those that bought above $400, which it closed at at that. and those that bought below. if i bought apple at above $400, should i sell now and cut my losses or should hold on and wait for things to get better?. >> the problem for waiting to see things get better we don't see anything between now and the end of the year to cause it to get better. with could see some new products hit and exceed our demand forecations, and if that happens, we put that a lower probability we would expect the stock to be range-bound at best. our advice if you can't weather through the end of the year you probably want to stay on the sidelines. >> wow! so i guess the answer to the other question, if i bought below $400, i should get out now and count my blessings, right? >> basically. we've been writing about this for the last few months and taking a lot of heat from a lot of media and other sectors and the reality is that it is always difficult. we were one of the biggest bulls for ten years on apple. david

>> well, we all love apple products. the customer that you interviewed, sounds like my house at home. we have macs and ipads and the products are very intuitive. they have a great software eco system, we have come to expect innovation from apple and i think we will continue to see it in the future. you know, just because they have gone through a bit of a lull here let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. it's easy to forget that apple has generated tremendous profits and has over $130 billion on their balance sheets right now. >> it seems that their innovation has been more incremental. what do you think is their next big thing? >> hard to say. i think they will continue to innovate around the iphone and ipad products. i think we will see thinner ipads can and larger screen iphones and new things like fingerprint sensor. we have heard of them working on apple tvs and watches. i think people would use the watches while they are jogging or being at the gym. and there's a lot of people that would buy the apple tv t
